Technical Director:

Houston Plywood Industry, Inc. seeks a Technical Director. Job site is located at: 3702 Knapp Rd, Pearland, TX, 77581. The position requires minimum 10 years of experience in wood manufacturing industry; and minimum 2 years of experience in supervisory capacity.

Job Duties:                

Define product development strategy; Identify and develop products for new markets; Oversee product manufacturing and ensure that all plywood products meet quality, regulatory and customer requirements; Manage IP, patents and designs; Manage all regulatory, quality and compliance requirements and ensure documentation is up to date and in line with current legislation; Ensure personal development training plans are in place; Provide engineering and technical support across the manufacturing process; Report on the status of manufacturing at senior management and divisional group meetings as required; Support operations and procurement to drive lean and continuous improvement both internally and externally through supply chain; Experience of different kinds of plywood products manufacturing; Have a track record of leading multi-discipline teams to deliver NPI programmes on time and within budget; Promote a teamwork culture and build effective relationship across the business; Understand customer needs and be able to turn requirements into innovative strategic solutions; and identify and lead change and continuous improvement.
